India, 17th October, 2022: Fernandez Foundation, a not-for-profit healthcare organisation and parent organisation to Fernandez Hospitals, Fernandez Clinics and Fernandez Child Development Centre, announced Dr Pramod Gaddam’s appointment as the Managing Director. In this new role, Dr Pramod will oversee strategy and overall operation of the foundation.
Dr Pramod joined the Fernandez medical team in 1994 and later became the Head of the Dept. of Neonatology in 2001. He took over as a full-time Director of Fernandez Hospital Private Limited in 2009, which was converted to a Foundation in 2018Prior to his appointment as the MD, Dr Pramod was serving as the CEO of Fernandez Foundation.
Dr Pramod has played a vital role in building Fernandez Foundation. He is a firm believer and practitioner of respectful care for both the mother and the newborn. Over the years, Dr Pramod has introduced several innovations and best practices to ensure this philosophy is practised. Apart from ensuring the best clinical practices and training for doctors and nurses, he introduced Kangaroo Mother Care (KMC) at Fernandez way back in 2004 after a detailed study in South Africa. He helped set up a Human Milk Bank in 2007 at Fernandez, the first of its kind in a private hospital. He also played a key role in the establishment of Fernandez Child Development Centre (FCDC), a centre for children with special needs.
