Ms Tina Gandhi, I-CAN leader from Canada, visited Fernandez CDC on 27 February to interact with team members and parents. She indulged into a discussion with parents about the value of caregiving and the necessity of parental self-care. She took a session on parenting counselling approaches with the Fernandez CDC team.
The I-CAN team visited FCDC on 28 February, Dr Vikram Dua and Dr Dedeepya worked on a fellowship programme for the entire day. Dr Dan from Canada, Dr Nandita de Souza from Sethu, Goa, and Dr Ashok from St. John’s visited the centre and spent some time with the team.
The Indo-Canadian Autism Network International Symposium on Addressing Challenges and Creating Opportunities was organised between 1-3 March, 2023.
The conference was organised with the dual goals of capacity building through training and education and looking into opportunities for additional international collaboration to enhance the quality of life for autistic children, adolescents, and adults in India.
I-CAN 2023 included two days of in-depth clinical training sessions, panel discussions, and keynote addresses centred on priority topics determined by members.
