WHAT WE DO
Many Paths,
One Destination
Through our multipronged approach, we hope to establish new standards in equitable care for mothers and newborns across the country.
Our vision of achieving high-quality, respectful care for all is not limited to how we approach and practice medicine. It is driven by our research, advanced by our education and training programmes, and amplified by our advocacy efforts.

Healthcare
The Fernandez Foundation has three hospitals and two outpatient clinics. At each, our philosophy is translated into practice through standardised protocols and well-researched processes. We offer midwife-led care as well as obstetric care at all our units. Our collaborative model of care ensures a blissful birthing experience for every mother.
Advocacy
Our advocacy efforts aim to improve how we treat and care for mothers and children across the country. We promote natural birthing, champion midwifery, and recommend the presence of birthing companions. We have also introduced Kangaroo Mother Care in India and have established Human Milk Banks. Through these initiatives, we seek to implement systemic change and ensure the physical and emotional well-being of mothers.
Child Development Centre
The Fernandez Child Development Centre caters to children with developmental disabilities and disorders. The Centre has specialists from different but related fields who work together to create a comprehensive and individualised treatment plan. Established in association with Divi’s Foundation for Gifted Children, the Centre creates a safe and supportive environment for children and their families.
Education
Education is crucial to establishing women-centric maternal and child care in India. We train students in compassionate, competent care and offer courses in Neonatology, Foetal Medicine, Obstetrics, Obstetrics Anaesthesia as well as Midwifery.
Research
Our research informs our practice. Several of our research projects have resulted in the creation and implementation of new national and international practices in mother and child care. Our research is conducted in collaboration with several universities, private and government agencies.
