It was a proud moment for the Fernandez Foundation to be part of the 50th National Conference (Golden Jubilee) of the Indian Association of Preventive & Social Medicine.

AIIMS-Bibinagar organised the conference between 2-4 February at the National Institute for Nutrition, Hyderabad. Day 2 of the Conference was all about Midwifery in India. In two critical sessions in which WHO, UNICEF, UNFPA and other agencies were present, Dr Evita highlighted midwifery’s evolution in Telangana and the partners’ role in strengthening the midwifery programme. Indie spoke on the international midwifery educators’ perspective on the future of midwifery.

A big draw at the conference was the programme team’s stall which showcased the impact of the midwifery initiative in Telangana.
